Budapest is a pretty spectacular place to travel to. We arrived early on Friday morning and met our friends from Helsinki at the airport, one tall beauty and one very little one. You’ll meet the little one later on this post. She is just too cute.
We had many plans for making most of this exciting new place. Starting with late breakfast on our first day, at Szimply.
It’s an all-day breakfast restaurant. Perfect for both, early and late risers. The weather was so nice we took a seat outside in the cobbled courtyard.
The menu changes each month, and the restaurant uses seasonal produce to create delicious savoury and sweet options. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes are indicated on the menu.
The presentation is everything; milk loaf with camembert, walnut-sundried tomato cream cheese, caviar and grapes. Not only gorgeous, tasty as well.
Blueberry Acai – Acai smoothie with blueberries, banana, coconut, plums, grapes and energy balls. Fresh, delicious and energising.
Crunchy avocado toast with crumbly goats cheese.
Egg muffin and crunchy quinoa salad.
Strangely they don’t serve coffee at Szimply. But do not worry – across the courtyard is Kontakt, and they’ll serve it straight to your table at Szimply. They specialise in coffee and have everything you can imagine, and then some. Wonderful teamwork with a neighbour.
Ok, its time to say hello to this gorgeous little one. Meet Emilia, she’s 2 and rocking my Celine sunglasses here.
Definitely head over to Szimply if you’re looking for a place offering healthy, filling, and fresh breakfasts (all day long) in Budapest. Not an especially Hungarian meal, but a great start to the weekend!
We explored all weekend, but I’ll share more on that soon.
