Sunset walk on Farncombe Estate

After slipping on our wellies, we set off to walk on the estate of The Fish Hotel. The 400-acre Farncombe Estate is a private estate which is also home to two sister hotels; Foxhill Manor and Dormy House.

You can freely wander along the paths that pass through meadows, greeting cows and cute little sheep along the way, most of them too busy to even notice you, just munching away on the grass. We were so pleased to see them grace freely and be a part of these most beautiful pastures.

You can see the village of Broadway in the distance and for miles and miles, all you see is picturesque countryside hills and farming lands. Honestly, it looks like something out of a classic English landscape painting.

One thing to note about the English Countryside is that the people are incredibly friendly! Everyone greets you with a smile and happily guides you around the estate.

Our walk was a couple of hours long and we finished it off with the most beautiful golden and pink sunset overlooking a field of sheep.

After our outdoor adventure, it was time to put our feet up by the fire and have a cup of mulled wine at the hotelreminiscing about how beautiful the British countryside really is.

The sheep are so cute and this looks so relaxing! I actually am from a state that has a lot of nearby islands and there’s a ton of wild sheep on them! Also how gorgeous is this sunset? I’m jealous haha

Hi Heather – we got so lucky with the sunset, it was almost surreal with all the sheep walking around and the colours turning pink. xx

Some of the sheep were really interested in her and kept walking behind her. Annie is always a bit shy so she just does her own thing and ignores everyone around her – even her sheep friends 🙂 Have you been to the Cotswolds Katja? x

Me too and I really needs breaks like this from the busy London life. Grounds you.

What beautiful scenery, the pictures are so pretty. Annie seems to have no fear about being next to a cow, typical little dog thinking that they are much bigger than they actually are 😀 xx

She certainly does 🙂 Annie concentrated more on sniffing around (and rolling on cow pats – she almost totally ruined that red jumper my mum knitted for her)
