We are back in London and its back to work time. Although it is still really warm here, you can feel the crisp autumn breeze starting to filter in (except today it feels rather tropical with high humidity and 27 c temperature). Autumn is on its way and it makes me very happy.
On Sunday, I headed to our old neighbourhood to meet with a friend and check out a cracking new brunch spot over in West London. No197 Chiswick Fire station. Chiswick Fire Station is a hip contemporary neighbourhood bar and restaurant, located in the old firehouse building on the high road. The vibe was relaxed, service was excellent and the food delicious. You can pop in anytime from breakfast to a late night drink and have a proper interiors feast on top of it all. The No197 has seriously gorgeous decor.

These blue velvet barstools where almost my favourite…
But the cosy pink suede sofas took the first price. And the cacti.
Snazzy little tables and succulents.
Fresh herbs in copper at the bar.
The food was fresh, deliciously cooked, with a focus on well-sourced ingredients. We loved that the menu had a special section for small sharing dishes.
I went for truffle mac n’ cheese and aubergine & sweet potato croquettes with sun blushed tomato, basil and feta – both delightful.
My friend ordered the No 197 Club Sandwich. Sourdough toast topped with grilled chicken, smoked bacon, avocado, roasted tomatoes and a side of basil mayo. She said it was the best club sandwich she has had.
House fries with béarnaise sauce.

We were dreaming of having the ricotta pancakes with blueberries. But just couldn’t after all that mac n’ cheese. There is always next time.
Did you like the interiors at Chiswick Fire House, whats your favourite part?
