Paris is always a good idea! My friend Ana Laura and I decided to go to Paris for a long weekend during the fashion week and meet with Rizwan since he was working there during that time. Ana Laura had read about the Musée Gustave Moreau and seen a photo of their beautiful spiral staircase. That stunning staircase stood out in her memory and therefore it was the number one thing she wanted to see in Paris. So thanks to Ana Laura, I got to witness this monumental staircase and all that the museum had to offer.
Here she is outside Musée Gustave Moreau – can you sense the excitement?
The Musée Gustave Moreau was designed by the painter himself and includes his private family mansion and the large gallery he built to display his work. On the first floor, you’ll find a display of precious souvenirs collected by Gustave Moreau near the end of his life and a ‘small sentimental museum’. In 1895, he built two huge glassed-over workshops on the upper floors, linked by a wrought-iron spiral staircase. Between the salmon pink walls, there are more than 5,000 paintings displayed in elegant frames.
Isn’t the staircase pretty spectacular!
