After my week along the Costa Blanca with friends, I ended my trip with a chilled two days in Valencia. I enjoyed the slow train ride along the Spanish coastline and on arrival, I was met with a warm breeze and air thick with moisture so I raced through the Valencia train station as fast as my legs would carry me. I checked into my hotel, dropped my bag, had a quick shower and made a beeline for the beach.
La Mas Bonita is a little place at the very end of the boulevard. Expect rustic, beachy vibes with crisp white and turquoise furnishings, imperfect walls, exposed beams and olive trees. When the sun is out, you can enjoy your home-cooked and organic meal, from breakfast to dinner, by sitting in its equally vivid back garden. This place is a hidden gem!
You’ve only seen half of Valencia if you haven’t spent some time with sand between your toes. La Mas Bonita Patacona Beach is a bit out all the way, so hop in a taxi or hire one of the bikes that are available for rent all around the city.
After lunch, I went to check out Las Mas Bonita’s Chiringuito right on the Patacona beachfront. A beach club so pretty that I was tempted to stay for the whole day. Instead, I took off my sandals and had a barefoot stroll across the beach. There’s nothing quite like sinking your toes into cool, white sand for the first time on a trip!
After an exceptionally delicious and relaxing lunch, and a stroll on Patacona beach, I put on my explorer hat and set off to see some of the Old Fishermen’s Quarter… That, though, is a whole other tale altogether!
