Kenwood House

It truly feels like summer has finally made it’s way to this island! Yay! We have been wanting to visit the Kenwood House in Hampstead, London for quite some time now, and on Saturday morning we made our way there. If you recognise the property, that’s because it was in the movie Notting Hill. Remember when Hugh Grant visits Julia Roberts while she’s filming? That’s Kenwood House.

The Kenwood House is a former stately home and managed by English Heritage, and normally open to the public (free entry). Inside you can see amazing art, even an original Rembrandt and Vermeer. It is absolutely stunning and has a very interesting history.

There is even a British period drama film loosely based on some of the events. We watched the film (Belle) on Saturday evening with some delicious cucumber cocktails. Recipe here.

Visiting Kenwood House is definitely worth the trip. It is a 35-40 minute Uber ride from Parsons Green, and you can spend the whole day at the property relaxing. Next time we will definitely bring Annie and a big picnic basket with us!

It is and well worth a visit. And I’m sure all the gardens there are even more beautiful now.

Such a stunning building! I hate to admit but I did squint at it thinking “I know that place from somewhere” and it was only when I read on that I realised it was from Nottinghill 😀 Also, those cucumber cocktails look delicious.

English Heritage is the best! I sometimes pine over some of their castle and gatehouse stays. Is Kenwood House one such location?
