On Sunday, after sleeping in at the hotel, we walked over to Hernesaaren Ranta, or Hernesaari Beach. Walking slowly, and I mean very slowly (after all that dancing the night before), it took us about 30minutes. The walk is so beautiful along many little parks and pastel coloured buildings. Summer in Finland is incredible. Along the way, we stopped at Löyly, Helsinki’s new public sauna and their stunning restaurant by the sea, and admired its exceptional architecture.
Hernesaaren Ranta is an outdoor seaside area, close to the city centre with good transport connections. There are bars, several street food stalls, boat docks, lots of activities and concerts throughout the summer months and lounge chairs for relaxing on the beach. They also have a 10-person private sauna for hire on their Sea Pier. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.

We enjoyed the sunny weather with some street food and ice creams from the vendors and lounged around for hours. A friend of mine said that Hernesaaren Ranta’s vibe makes you feel like you’re on holiday, and its so true – this completely new concept works so, so well. A mini vacation for the city folk. Nothing beats spending summer afternoons with your girlfriends by the seaside 🙂
Check out this incredible little Iglusauna. It is handmade of spruce and aspen slats. You can learn more or order one in different sizes from Creative Woodworks at IGLUSAUN
Highly recommend checking this place out when in Helsinki!
