A Blooming Afternoon in Shoreditch – Bloomon UK

Being the new kids in town, Bloomon UK was throwing a very special workshop this Sunday at the Shoreditch’s Protein Studios. The Dutch company launched in the UK in February 2016 and have been taking the town by a storm ever since. We went to learn how to create and arrange the perfect bouquet with Bloomon’s floral stylist Stuart. He shared his knowledge and love for flowers, giving us lots of tips on how to give each flower the attention it deserves and how to care for your blooms. Bloomon only uses the best quality flowers, always fresh and carefully selected. The beauty is in the little details and the relaxed look of the bouquet.

Always clean your vase well with chlorine, this way your flowers will stay beautiful for a longer period of time. Also, add a drop of chlorine to the water to keep your bouquet fresh.

Cut the flowers, especially vulnerable flowers can definitely use a fresh cut. Just cut about 2-3cm, and they’ll thank you. With wooden stems, you can also slice the bottom lengthwise so they can drink more water.

You need it, your flowers do too: fresh water! As soon as the water starts to muddle, so every couple of days, empty it and fill the vase up with fresh water. Also, give them a little cut if need be.

Keep away from radiators, windy spots and harsh sunlight or they won’t last that long. Put them in a cool spot at night, and you will enjoy them for much longer.

Fruit may be good for you and I, but keep flowers away from apples and bananas. Fruit makes your flowers wilt much quicker, so keep them separate.

Drop some copper pennies in the water with your tulips and they will bloom brightly for you.

We all got to take a huge bouquet of flowers home. Made everyone very happy! So many people stopped us on the street and complimented/enquired about the flowers.

We also had brunch in Shoreditch. In nearby Peruvian restaurant called Andina. The restaurant is a modern ‘picanteria’: serving healthy food and drinks from the Peruvian Andes. Great menu, lots of superfood options.

Perfectly balanced flavours and very comforting food.

All fueled up and ready for a Sunday stroll through Shoreditch with our Bloomon Bouquets in our arms.

And walking some more. In this weather, I could walk and walk, but we had to rush home to put our flowers in water.
