DIRECTIONS

Combine all ingredients in a pot (except rum). Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring every now and again and cook until fragrant, about 5 minutes. If desired add rum at this point and give the cider one last stir. Cider can be kept warm over very low heat.

Pour into mugs and garnish with cinnamon sticks. Serve nice and warm.

Tarvitset

kanelitankoja koristeiksi

OHJE

Tarjoile kuumana.

Interesting. I’ve always used cinnamon sticks and cloves, and generally omit the spiced rum — lol! Nutmeg reminds me of eggnog and Christmas. Not a bad thing, but I like Christmas not to demand my attention till late November. 😉

Hi Sue! I love nutmeg in quite a few things in the Autumn, I always add it to apple crumble and plum pies. Mmm.. eggnog.

I absolutely love this drink in the fall. It is actually sort of a family tradition to drink spiced apple cider during the colder months. Also your pictures were so beautiful. Cant wait to enjoy spiced cider this fall 🙂
