Weekend highlights from East Sussex

Hi everyone! Greetings from rainy, but warm London. We are currently getting ready for our holiday in Croatia and Montenegro with my parents, so excited! I cant wait to see mum and dad and jump in the turquoise sea! I will definitely post from there as well, perhaps even during the holiday if the internet works well enough.

This post is a bit different, short and sweet – a little postcard of images from our recent trip to East Sussex. Hope you enjoy!

Moi! Tulossa on siis postauksia sieltä päin maailmaa, ehkä jopa loman aikana mikäli netti toimii tarpeeksi hyvin.

Tämä postaus on vähän erilainen ja lyhyt – pieni postikortti meidän reissulta East Sussexiin toissa viikonlopulta. Toivottavasti tykkäät!IMG_1394

CAMBER SANDS BEACH

Camber Sands is the beach at the village of Camber in East Sussex, England. The beach is famous for the long ridges of sand dunes leading down to miles of soft golden shoreline.

Camber Sands on pitkä hiekkaranta, joka on osa Camber kylää East Sussex:ssa, Englannissa. Ranta on tunnettu sen kumpuilevista hiekkadyyneistä jotka reunustavat kultaista rantaviivaa.

Salts Farm Shop is a family run farm, cafe and store that stocks local quality produce. The cafe serves delicious baked goods and refreshments. Don’t miss saying hello to the handsome rooster, lovely hens and the sheep relaxing on the field.

Salts Farm Shop on perheyritys, johon kuuluu maatila, kahvila ja pieni kauppa, joka myy paikallisia laatutuotteita. Kahvilassa tarjoillaan herkullisia leivonnaisia ja virvokkeita. Muista käydä tervehtimässä maatilan komeaa kukkoa, herttaisia kanoja ja pellolla rentoutuvia lampaita.

ANCIENT TOWN OF RYE

The drive to the historic town of Rye from our hotel (The Gallivant) was only about 5 minutes. We had lovely time roaming the cobbled streets, exploring its many antique and second hand shops and enjoying cream tea in traditional tea rooms.

Ajomatka historialliseen Rye:n kaupunkiin kesti vain noin viisi minuuttia hotelliltamme (The Gallivant). Rye, East Sussex | Karoliina KaziRye, East Sussex | Karoliina KaziCream Tea, Rye, East Sussex | Karoliina KaziRye, East Sussex | Karoliina KaziRye, East Sussex | Karoliina KaziRye, East Sussex | Karoliina KaziRye, East Sussex | Karoliina KaziRye, East Sussex | Karoliina KaziRye, East Sussex | Karoliina KaziRye, East Sussex | Karoliina KaziRye, East Sussex | Karoliina KaziRye, East Sussex | Karoliina KaziRye, East Sussex | Karoliina Kazi

KENT & EAST SUSSEX, TENTERDEN STEAM RAILWAY

We saw this steam train on our drive from London and decided to plan our way back so that we have a chance to see the train on the platform, close up. And oh boy, it was incredible – we must come again and actually board the train for a little journey.

Kiitos! Yllätyin suomenkielisestä vastauksesta joten kävin tutustumassa blogiisi enemmän ja luin sinun mielenkiintoisesta elämästä, ihanaa tavata toinen suomalainen täällä 🙂 Höyryjunalla pitää vielä päästä matkustamaan!

Your photos of Camber Sands are really lovely – and I love your little dog. He makes an excellent model! I’ve never been to Camber Sands, but I’m now going to put it on my list for next year (we’re already booked up for the rest of this year!). It looks such an ‘olde worlde’ place, and would suit our interests well. Our grandson will travel nationwide to see steam engines, and I know he hasn’t been down to East Sussex. And sand dune! What more could I ask? I was born and bred in a place with amazing sand dunes and pine woods. Lovely post. 🙂

Thank you so much Millie! The sand dunes at Camber are pretty spectacular and I’m sure the beach is busy during the summer months, great shallow waters and the beach goes on for 7miles, I think. And the steam engine is definitely on our list for things to see (properly that is). Thank you for your lovely comment and for the follow as well. I will head over to yours now before going to sleep 🙂
